Kia Sonet Launched, Offers Best-in-class Mileage - PRICE LIST INSIDE

Kia Sonet is finally launched in the country. Interestingly, Kia has priced it quite strategically with a starting price of Rs. 6.71 lakh for the entry-level trim. However, the prices go up to Rs. 11.99 lakh for the top-spec GTX+ trim. Kia will offer the Sonet in a total of 6 trim options, namely HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and GTX+. Engine options, there are 4 of them on offer – 1.2L NA petrol, 1.0L turbo-petrol, 1.5L diesel WGT, and 1.5L diesel VGT. Also, there are 5 gearbox options to choose from, 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed AT, and 7-speed DCT.

Talking of the variant wise prices, the HTE trim will be offered in 2 configurations – 1.2L NA petrol MT and 1.5L diesel MT, which are priced at Rs. 6.71 lakh and Rs. 8.05 lakh, respectively. Moving over to the HTK trim, it carries a price tag of Rs. 7.59 lakh with the 1.2L petrol motor in place and Rs. 7.99 lakh with the diesel engine. The option of an automatic gearbox is not available here.

The next variant on the list is HTK+. It can be had with the 1.2L NA motor at Rs. 8.45 lakh. However, with the 1.0L turbo-petrol motor with 6-speed iMT and 1.5L diesel engine with 6-speed MT, it is priced at Rs. 9.49 lakh. But, opting for the 7-speed DCT with the turbo-petrol engine would set you back by another Rs. 1.00 lakh. The HTK+ trim is the only variant on offer that can be had with diesel-automatic configuration, which is priced at Rs. 10.39 lakh.

The HTX, HTX+, and GTX+ variants are only available with 2 engine-gearbox options – 1.0L turbo-petrol (6-speed iMT) and 1.5L diesel (6-speed MT). While the HTX variant is priced at Rs. 9.99 lakh, the HTX+ trim carries a price tag of 11.65 lakh, and the GTX+, on the other hand, carries a sticker price of Rs. 11.99 lakh, irrespective of the engine-gearbox option you choose to go with.

Also, Kia is claiming that Sonet offers the best-in-class mileage figures for all of its engine-gearbox options. Stating with the 1.5L oil burner, it returns a claimed mileage of 24.1 kmpl with the manual gearbox and 19 kmpl with automatic transmission. The 1.0L turbo-petrol motor with the 6-speed iMT has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 18.2 kmpl. The least powerful engine of the lot – 1.2L NA petrol, it is claimed to return a mileage of 18.4 kmpl with the 5-speed manual gearbox.
