The South Korean automaker is all set to introduce its third and most affordable product, the Kia Sonet, to India. The new sub-four-metre SUV has begun reaching Kia outlets across the nation. Bookings for the vehicle have also been opened at a token amount of INR 25,000.
Certain Kia dealers in India including Taapasi Kia has officially debuted the Sonet at their showroom. Taapasi Kia organized a grand event to showcase the car to the fans and customers who have booked the compact SUV. This is the first time that people have had a chance to directly witness the Kia Sonet. Before the launch of the vehicle which is expected to occur next month, the Sonet will be showcased in all Kia showrooms. Test drives have not been offered now but they are expected to commence in the next few days.

We already know that the Kia Sonet will borrow the motor options from the Hyundai Venue, one of its direct competitors. Currently, the Kia Sonet is offered in six variants which are categorized in two trims: Tech Line (THE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+) and GT Line (GTX+). The Kia Sonet is expected to be priced from INR 6.6 lakh to INR 12.9 lakh. Noteworthily, the average price of a compact SUV in India is between INR 12 lakh to INR 13 lakh. Accordingly, the Kia Sonet will be priced in a competitive price range compared to other compact SUVs in India.

The Kia Sonet receives its power from four BS6 motor options: a 1.2-litre NA gasoline burner with 82 BHP/115 Nm and a 5-speed MT, a 1.0-litre T-GDI turbo petrol motor with 118 BHP.172 Nm and a 6-speed iMT/7-speed DCT, a 1.5-litre DRDI oil unit with 98.6 BHP/240 Nm and a 6-speed MT. a CRDI VGT oil burner with 113 BHP/250 Nm with and a 6-speed AT.
