Kia Sonet is the third launch by Kia in the Indian market after the Seltos and Carnival
It is reported that the new Kia Sonet will be available in Tech Line and GT Line variants. While the Tech Line variants will be powered by either a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine or a 1.5-litre diesel engine, the GT Line, on the other hand, will source power from the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor. The Tech Line variant will come in four trims, HTE, HTK, HTX and HTX+. On the other hand, the GT Line, marketed as the sportier version of the Sonet, will be offered in three trims, namely, GTK, GTX and GTX+.
Kia Sonet Tech Line will be the more sophisticated of the two. On the inside, it will feature fabric upholstery and dual-tone interior colour scheme, while the GT Line will come with an all-black interior with red highlights, which will enhance the sporty appeal of the design. Kia Sonet will come with features like alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, electric sunroof, touchscreen infotainment system with UVO connectivity system, wireless charging, multi-function steering wheel, and more for both Tech Line or GT Line variants.
Kia Seltos will be available in GT Line or Tech Line
Talking of the powertrain, as mentioned above, the Kia Sonet Tech Line will come with two choices of engines while the GT Line will be offered with a smaller 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. While the former will be mated to manual gearbox only, the latter will come mated to either a 7-speed DCT gearbox or an iMT gearbox. A conventional 6-speed stick shift manual gearbox is also expected to be offered with the 1.0-litre turbo engine.
It is confirmed that the Kia Sonet will be revealed on August 7 but official bookings have not commenced yet. However, several dealers have started accepting bookings unofficially. With the launch of the Kia Sonet, it is expected that the total sales of Kia will increase significantly.
