Kia Sonet Variant-wise Prices Suggested By Dealership

A couple of days ago, Kia hold a world premiere of the Kia Sonet under the production form. At the premiere, Kia Motors has revealed the full exterior of the upcoming SUV. However, price-related details are not announced yet. However, a source from Kia’s dealership has given us some valuable hints of the Kia Sonet's pricing.

Kia Sonet will be available with three choices of engines, 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. According to the dealership, the 1.2-litre petrol line will be sold at Rs 6.5 lakh for the base variant and Rs 8.5 lakh for the top-spec variant. The diesel-powered variants might be offered at the starting price of Rs 8.00 lakh and the top-spec diesel variant can cost up to Rs 11.50 lakh. The turbocharged petrol GT Line variants will be the most expensive with a starting price of Rs 8.5 lakh. However, the costliest variant powered by the turbo-petrol engine will be available at Rs. 11.5 lakh, just around the same price of the top-spec diesel variant. It is confirmed by Kia Motors that the Kia Sonet will be offered in Tech Line and GT Line. There will be a total of seven trims, namely, HTE, HTK, HTX, HTX+, GTK, GTX, and GTX+.

In previous reports, Kia Sonet was expected to be priced above the 10 lakh mark. However, it seems that Kia has a change of heart and wants to lower the price of the Kia Sonet, hence increasing the competitiveness of the new sub-four-meter SUV.

How Different is the Kia Sonet GT Line from Tech Line?

It should be noted that the revealed prices are not official. Kia will unveil the full variant-wise prices near the launch date. Even so, the leaked price details will give us a rough idea of the official pricing.

When launched, Kia Sonet will go up against the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and more. Apart from having competitive pricing, the Kia Sonet is expected to raise the bar of the sub-four-meter SUV space by offering a host of first-in-segment and segment-leading features. Kia Sonet is scheduled to launch next month. Until then, there will be more details of the upcoming Kia Sonet to be revealed.
