The ongoing Suzuki Jimny is offered in a three-door body style. In terms of dimension, Maruti Jimny is 3,300 mm long, 1,475 mm wide, and has a wheelbase of 2,250 mm. It is propelled by a 1.5-litre, K15B diesel mill. This diesel engine performs the same duties in the ongoing Ciaz and Ertiga. It churns out 95PS of max power at 4,000 rpm and 225 Nm of peak torque at 1,500 rpm. The Jimny is also offered with a 660cc turbo-petrol engine. This engine is only limited to the Japan-spec Jimny because of the country's Kei vehicle rules.

In Japanese markets, the Jimny is also offered with a 660cc turbo-petrol engine

Till now, the carmaker has not confirmed their plans to launch the Jimny SUV for the Indian market. Earlier, Maruti dropped their plans to introduce the SUV in India because they did not see any requirement of a three-door SUV.  Introducing a 5-door model of the SUV would be a sensible investment. In other news, Maruti Suzuki has sold over 5 lakh BS-VI compliant cars in the last nine months. The range of BS-VI compliant Maruti vehicles includes- Alto, S-Presso, Celerio, WagonR, Swift, Baleno, Dzire, Ertiga and XL6. Maruti Eeco is the latest BS-6 compliant model in the company’s line-up.
