MG Gloster Gets 2,000 Bookings in 3 Weeks

MG Motor announced that the recently-launched MG Gloster has received over 3,000 bookings in the last three weeks.

MG Gloster was launched on October 8. In the last three weeks, the SUV has received good feedbacks from the Indian customers with over 2,000 bookings. Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India, also revealed that in the last month, the company has sold 3,725 units of the MG Hector, which is the highest monthly sales figure of this model since its arrival.

MG Gloster is warmly welcomed by the Indian customers

MG Gloster is available in four trims, Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy. The price of the new SUV ranges from Rs 28.98 lakh to Rs 35.38 lakh (ex-showroom). MG Gloster is positioned as a premium SUV with upmarket features. Right from the entry-level trim, the MG Gloster is well-equipped with various goodies which are normally expected in the high-spec variants only. The base variant Super comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-way manually adjustable driver seat, electronic stability program, hill hold, traction control, cruise control, 6 airbags, auto headlamps, and more.

To the top-spec Savvy trim, MG offers a host of segment-leading, advanced technologies for the MG Gloster. The ADAS pack (advanced driver assistance system) on the MG Gloster includes following functions: lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, hand-free parking, forward collision warning, and autonomous emergency braking. Apart from the ADAS suite, MG Gloster also receives i-Smart connectivity system, three-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker sound system, blind-spot monitoring system, 360-degree parking camera, heated and ventilated powered driver seat with massage and memory function. Instead of the 7-seater setting, MG Gloster Savvy comes with 6 seater configuration with two captain seats for the second row.

MG Gloster comes with diesel engines only. On the Super and Smart trims, the SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which churns out a 163bhp of maximum torque and 375Nm of peak torque. The higher variants, Sharp and Savvy, get a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine with power outputs of 218bhp and 480Nm. This engine is provided with an on-demand four-wheel-drive system with multiple drive modes. An 8-speed manual gearbox is offered across the range. MG Gloster is rivalling against Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Mahindra Alturas G4.
