MG Gloster SUV Production Version Spotted Without Camouflage

MG Gloster will make its entrance into the full-sized SUV segment by the end of this year. Here are the latest spy images of this SUV without disguise.

MG Gloster is the next big launch from MG Motor in the India market. The new vehicle will enter the full-sized SUV space by the end of this year. Loaded with upmarket features and advanced technologies, the MG Gloster is expected to be a strong competitor in its class. First displayed at the Auto Expo 2020 under the near-production version, MG Gloster has currently been spotted under the production form with no disguise.

Production-ready MG Gloster is currently spotted without disguise 

According to the earlier revealed specifications, the MG Gloster is underpinned by a frame chassis. The full-size SUV’s length stands at 5005 mm while the wheelbase measures 2950 mm. Its width and height are 1875 mm and 2950 mm, respectively. With these dimensional specs, the MG Gloster will triumph the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in terms of interior space. Moreover, the substantial size of the MG Gloster brings in a strong road presence.

MG Gloster sports a pronounced front grille with projector headlights, large wheel arches, and massive 18-inch wheels. In addition, the Gloster also comes with projector headlamps, LED DRLs, and LED taillights. The spy images lend us a closer look at the rear end design. For the rear, the MG Gloster gets a robust rear bumper with sporty quad exhaust pipes and a “Gloster” lettering across the boot lid. Earlier at the Auto Expo 2020, the MG Gloster was seen with the twin-pipe set-up.

MG Gloster will be rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour

The MG Gloster in question was seen with a 4WD badge on the boot lid, suggesting that the new SUV will be the first in the segment to come with the on-demand four-wheel-drive system. Along with the 4WD system, the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) badge also indicates that the MG Gloster will be fully-armed in terms of driving assist equipment.

Under the hood, MG Gloster is available with three choices of engines in the international market. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine is good for 161 Bhp and 375 Nm. On petrol range, the MG Gloster comes with either a 2.0-litre twin-turbo or a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. These petrol engines churn out the power outputs of 215 Bhp/480 Nm and 211 Bhp/350 Nm, respectively. All of these engines are available with two choices of transmission, a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Both 4x2 and 4x4 system are on offer for the MG Gloster. However, it is not yet confirmed by the carmaker what powertrain will be carried over to the India-spec model.
