MG Gloster is slated to launch this festive season. A recent report suggests that the new MG Gloster will come with an all-wheel-drive system and 64-colour ambient lighting.
Within one year of its debut in the Indian market, MG Motor India has offered three vehicles. During this year's festive season, Mahindra will roll out its fourth vehicle, the Toyota-Fortuner-rivalling MG Gloster. Earlier this year, MG Gloster was displayed at the Auto Expo 2020 in a near-production form and today, we'll tell you about some new details of the vehicle.

Ahead of its impending launch, the MG Gloster was recently spotted undergoing road tests. As per the spy pictures, the new premium SUV will be available with a four-drive system, thereby promising to offer a decent off-road capability. However, the 4WD system will be offered as an option. Along with the 4WD option, the flagship SUV will get a multiple-drive mode setting which includes Sand, Rock and Snow modes.
MG Gloster is based on the Maxus D90, which is currently on sale in the Chinese market. The upcoming full-size SUV measures at 5005mm, 1932mm and 1875mm in length, width and height, respectively. Compared to the Toyota Fortuner or the Ford Endeavour, the Gloster has an upper hand when it comes to the size. The exterior of the MG Gloster sports a dominant grille with projector headlights and LED DRLs, LED taillamps, large wheel arches, and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Similar to all the previous models launched by MG Motor, the MG Gloster will also be fully-equipped with a wide range of advanced and up-market features. It is confirmed by MG that the upcoming Toyota Fortuner-rivalling SUV will be equipped with several segment-first features including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping system, autonomous emergency braking system, parking assist as well as forward collision warning.
Along with these driving assist features, it is reported that the MG Gloster will also offer a 64-colour configuration for the ambient lighting system. In addition, other highlights of the interior include 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment with connectivity system, 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, power ventilated front seat with heating and massage functions, three-zone automatic climate control and leather upholstery. As far as we know, the MG Gloster will come with two choices of engines, 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine. While the petrol engine will be mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or an automatic gearbox, the diesel engine will be offered with a ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic transmission. These engines are good for 224bh/350Nm and 218bhp/480Nm, respectively. MG Gloster is expected to cost around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom). The Gloster will go against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
