MG Hector Bookings Tally Crosses 28,000 Mark, Order Book Closed For Now

MG Hector has a flying start with over 28,000 bookings within one month after launch. By the end of June, 1,508 units of the MG Hector were delivered to the hands of customers. MG Hector is warmly welcomed by India customers owing to its fully-loaded feature package and the competitive pricing.

The unexpected high demand has forced MG Motor to stop receiving bookings for the MG Hector. Practically, the MG Hector was sold out for the rest of the year. To tackle imbalance between demand and supply, MG Motor is planning to expand its recent production capacity to 3,000 units per month by September. That being said, the British manufacturer has no official statement regarding when it will reopen bookings for the sub-four-meter SUV.

MG Motor has received 28k bookings within one month after launch

MG Hector debuted at the competitive introductory price of Rs 12.18 lakh. This sub-four-meter SUV is available in four trims – the base Style, Super, Smart and top-spec Sharp. With two petrol and one diesel option, the MG Hector can provide a wide range of powertrains. A 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine generates a maximum power of 170 PS and 350 Nm. This 1.5-litre unit can come with a 48V mild-hybrid system that can unleash the maximum power of 141 PS and a peak torque of 250 Nm. A 2.0-litre diesel engine is capable of making 170PS and 350Nm. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on the diesel and the mild-hybrid petrol version while the non-hybrid petrol is available with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Pitched as the first connected SUV in India, MG Hector is fully-loaded in terms of connectivity features. Besides, MG Motor also provides a long list of safety features, including 6-airbags airbags, ABS with EBD, hill-start control, traction control, ISOFIX child seat anchor, front parking sensor and a 360-degree camera.
