MG has commenced deliveries of new MG Hector Plus. It locks horns with the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and upcoming Tata Gravitas.

Last week, MG launched its third product in the Indian market named as Hector Plus. The new MG Hector Plus is the 6-seater version of the regular MG Hector. The automaker is also planning to introduce the 7-seater version of the SUV in the coming months. The carmaker has finally initiated the deliveries of all-new Hector Plus. The first MG Hector Plus was delivered on 17th August 2020, four days after the launch of the SUV. The bookings of the SUV have commenced a couple of weeks before the official launch of the car.

The price of the all-new MG Hector starts at Rs 13.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and goes all the way up to Rs 18.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). As compared to the 5-seater Hector, the all-new MG Hector Plus is almost Rs 65,000 costlier. The all-new MG SUV is powered by three different engine and gearbox options. It derives power from a 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit that produces 143 PS of power and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel mill, which puts out 170 PS of peak power. The SUV is also propelled by a 1.5-litre petrol-hybrid motor. All the three powertrain options come paired with a 6-speed MT as standard and an optional DCT is also offered but only with turbo petrol mill. The new MG Hector Plus features three rows and individual captain seats for all the rows.

The dimensions of the SUV has been increased a bit compared to the regular model of the car. The automaker has also made a few subtle tweaks on outside and inside to make it look a bit different from the 5-seater Hector. The new MG Hector Plus comes loaded with features like a new front and rear bumper, the ChitChat voice assist function, new LED headlamps along with LED DRLs and a revised front grille. It rivals with the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and upcoming Tata Gravitas.
