MG partnered with Orix and Zoomcar to introduce subscription program for the MG ZS EV. The electric SUV is now available for leasing at the price of Rs 49,999 per month.

Debuting at the 2020 Auto Expo, MG ZS EV is the third product to be launched by MG Motor for the Indian market. At the moment, the electric SUV is competing against Tata Nexon EV and Hyundai Kona Electric. The segment-leading position currently belongs to Tata Nexon. Tata’s EV offering can defeat other rivals including the MG ZS EV mostly thanks to its affordable pricing. In addition, Tata Motors is offering a subscription service, providing an alternative for customers to experience the Nexon EV. Acknowledging the positive impact of this program on the Nexon EV, MG has started its own subscription service for the ZS EV.

To make it happen, MG Motor has collaborated with Orix and Zoomcar, the two big companies in the car rental industry in India. The existing influence of these car rental brands will be helpful for a new brand like MG Motor to reach out to a larger audience. Under this subscription program, the customers have to pay only Rs 49,999 per month. Customers can opt to subscribe for 12, 18, 24, 30, or 36 months, depending on their needs.

MG Motor is offering two subscription plans, Myles Zero Subscription and MG Shared Subscribe. The former will cover the maintenance and insurance cost for the car without requiring any down-payment. This option allows the subscribers to get certain tax benefits as well as flexible rental tenure.

On the other hand, the MG Shared Subscribe allows more than one customer to share the same car. In other words, the subscription cost can now be split between two or more users. As a result, customers can save up to 70 percent of the monthly subscription cost. Other benefits of the MG Shared Subscribe will be similar to those offered on Myles Zero Subscription. MG Shared Subscribe is a good choice if you are not going to use the car regularly. According to MG, for both plans, there will be no foreclosure charge. At the end of the tenure, customers can choose to end their subscription plan or extend the lease.

MG Motor is offering the subscription service for the MG ZS EV in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Delhi-NCR. The car company is planning to bring this service to more cities across India.

It is claimed to provide a maximum range of 340 km per charge. This electric SUV can hit 100 kmph from idle in 8.5 seconds, which is faster than Tata Nexon by 2 seconds. Generally, the performance of the MG ZS EV is better than the segment-leading Tata Nexon.
