New-gen Mahindra XUV500 Spied again with Massive Sunroof

The upcoming Mahindra XUV500 has been recently spied while testing with a massive panoramic sunroof. The upcoming model of the SUV will be powered by a petrol and diesel mill.

Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to launch the new-gen XUV500 in the Indian market in coming months. The upcoming Mahindra SUV is expected to employ a lot of cosmetic updates as well as hi-tech features. Here are a few recent spy images of the car, where one can see that the upcoming model of the XUV500 featuring a massive panoramic sunroof. Talking about its looks, the front fascia of the SUV will get a new set of headlamps, grille, LED DRLs, air dam and bonnet. The new grille will employ vertical slats, which makes the SUV look more massive. The styling of the headlamps and LED DRLs seems to be inspired by some Renault cars retailed in the European markets.

Dimensionally, the new-gen model of the SUV is expected to be bigger than the outgoing version. The air dam offered in the new-gen model will be sleeker than before. The bonnet of the car has been updated with subtle lines and crease, which makes the front fascia of the car look more engaging. On the side, it gets a redesigned side mirror with integrated turn blinkers. Mechanically, it’ll derive power from 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel mill. The former develops 190 Bhp of power and 390 Nm of peak torque, while the latter is capable of shredding out power and torque outputs of 152 Bhp and 360 Nm. Transmission duties will be done by a manual and automatic gearbox.

The same powertrain option does duties in the new-gen Mahindra Thar. Mahindra could launch the new-gen XUV500 with several segment-first features like radar system which can detect potholes, autonomous braking, and driver eyelid tracking to detect signs of sleepiness. One can also expect the SUV to get a 3D panoramic vision, which offers the driver a comprehensive view of the SUVs immediate surroundings. The automaker is also working on the multi-zone climate control unit, which can be accessed via a smartphone application. Once launched, the new-gen Mahindra XUV500 will rub shoulders with the likes of MG Hector Plus and upcoming new-gen Safari.
