New Tata Mini-SUV and Sedan are Underpinned by the New 45X Platform

The new Alpha modular platform is expected to spawn the Tata Motors’ forthcoming new mini SUV and mid-sized Sedan

It has been informed earlier that a range of new cars will be launched in India market by Tata by 2020 – 2022. The new models include the new Harrier SUV, a premium hatchback based on the 45X concept, Tiago and the all-new Nexon, and Tigor. The new-gen models will be underpinned by the new Alpha modular platform. Excitingly, a mini SUV is also being developed by the company.

Tata’s first model to be supported by the Alpha platform is a premium hatchback, which will be developed with similarities with 45X concept hatchback. Once launched in India in late 2018, it can take on the likes of Hyundai Elite i20 and Maruti Suzuki Baleno.

Working on the new micro-SUV, Tata Hornbill, the car manufacturer will also adopt the new Alpha modular platform. It is expected to rival the forthcoming small SUV of Maruti, likely to be called the “Maruti ZEN”. The brand’s new IMPACT design philosophy, which can also be seen on new the H5X concept, will also direct the development of The Tata Hornbill

Prior to this mini SUV, a mid-sized sedan based on the 45X concept will be released in India to compete with Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna. It is expected to remind us of the E-Vision concept and share engine features with Nexon compact SUV.

Using advanced technologies on cars in many segments, Tata Motors expects to increase its competitiveness in the Indian auto market.
