Nissan is set to join the sub-four-metre SUVs competition which is already crowded and highly contested, with the Magnite. The upcoming Nissan Magnite has been unveiled and its launch is expected to happen very soon. However, not much was revealed by the company, regarding the dimensions, powertrain options and mileage of the vehicle during the course of its unveiling. But now we get on hands all of these details ahead of the Magnite’s launch.
The upcoming Nissan Magnite will measure 3,998 mm long, 1,758 mm wide and 1,572 mm high and get a wheelbase of 2,500 mm. From this, the new Magnite won’t be as tall and wide as its rivals but it slots into the sub-four-metre SUV segment and rivals the likes of Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Vitara Brezza among others on the wheelbase front. Also, with the kerb weight of 939 – 1,039 kg, the all-new Nissan Magnite will be one of the lightest compact SUVs in the Indian space. It will come a fuel tank capacity of 40 litres and all models will run on a set of 16-inch wheels but alloys or steel depends on the variant.
Nissan Magnite Engine Specs
The Nissan Magnite will make use of two 1.0-litre petrol engine options under the hood, including a naturally-aspirated engine and a turbocharged unit. While the 1.0-litre NA petrol mill is capable of making 72 HP of power and 96 Nm of torque, the turbocharged version is punchier with the power and torque output of 100 HP and 160 Nm, respectively. Transmission duties will be handled by either a 5-speed MT as standard or a CVT automatic option for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol model (torque drops to 152 Nm).
It is obvious that the turbo-CVT variant of the Nissan Magnite will be the least fuel-efficient of the lot with the ARAI-rated fuel mileage figure of 17.7 kmpl. The 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol mill gets a claimed fuel efficiency rating of 18.75 kmpl. Sitting at the top of the pile is the Nissan Magnite Turbo-MT which claims a fuel economy figure of 20 kmpl.
The official price announcement of the Nissan Magnite is expected to happen sometime closer to December 2020. The price of the Magnite is estimated to start from Rs 5.3 lakh for the base trim and top off at Rs 7.5 lakh for the top-end model (ex-showroom).
