Skoda Kushaq is set to be launched on March 16. Ahead of the launch, Skoda has revealed the sketch images of the upcoming model.
Skoda has confirmed the world premiere date of the upcoming Skoda Kushaq. It is also confirmed that the new SUV will be unveiled globally on March 18. The Kushaq is based on the Vision IN concept which was unveiled at the Auto Expo last year. What’s more interesting, the Czech car manufacturer has also released the sketch images of the Skoda Kushaq, giving us more details of the upcoming model.
Skoda Kushaq will enter the market next month
As per the revealed sketch images, the new SUV looks like a thoroughbred one with a muscular and aggressive design. It gets pronounced wheel arches, roof rail, and rugged bumper. On the front end, it flaunts vertically-split headlamps, which are currently very popular in the SUV market. The signature grille seems to get a chrome surround and black vertical slats. The skid plate placed below the front bumper is also visible in the sketch images.
To the side profile, besides the 17-inch dual-tone wheels, it also features a Skoda badge located near the fender. The prominent shoulder line is also visible from the revealed images. From this perspective, it is easy to point out that the Skoda Kushaq gets a raked windshield and a sloping roofline. It also comes with blacked-out B-pillars and chrome-garnished window frames. At the rear end, Skoda Kushaq sports a roof-mounted spoiler, SKODA lettering, rear skid plate, and L-shaped LED tail lamps with reflectors. The rear design looks heavily sculptured.
Skoda Kushaq will be based on the all-new MQB A0 IN platform developed specifically for the Indian market
The interior of the upcoming Skoda Kushaq is not revealed yet. However, we expect it to be very upmarket. Some highlights of the Kushaq might include a touchscreen infotainment system, a fully-digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, cruise control, automatic climate control, connected car tech, push-button start/stop, electronic sunroof, and more.
Under the hood, it is expected that the Skoda Kushaq will be offered with two engine options - 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. The Skoda Kushaq is underpinned by an all-new MQB A0 IN platform which is designed specifically for the Indian market. The same platform will is also be used on the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun. All these models are part of the India 2.0 project. Moreover, thanks to the heavy localization, the Kushaq will be priced competitively. The delivery of this model will start around mid-2020
