Skoda Opens Two New Workshops in Mumbai, Ahead of Kushaq Launch

Skoda is ramping up its efforts to open more after-sales and service points in India by inaugurating two new workshop facilities in Mumbai before it launches the Kushaq SUV. Full story below

The Skoda Kushaq’s launch is right around the corner, and the Czech automaker is busy ramping up its admittedly small service network in the country. Skoda Auto India has just announced the opening of two service facilities in Mumbai, with both being operated by Mody Skoda and are located at Mahalaxmi and Kurla. With the opening of these two new service facilities, Skoda intends to strengthen its customer service in Mumbai as a part of its plan to establish a stronger foothold in western India.

The two new outlets are sporting the new Corporate Identity and Design as a part of Skoda Auto global redesigning process. Skoda says that under the new ‘India 2.0 Project’, it projects to have at least twice the number of sales and service touchpoints by 2022 compared to current numbers. Commenting on the inauguration of the two service outlets, Mr Zac Hollis, Brand Director, India said, “Skoda Auto India is set to strengthen its presence pan India including key cities like Mumbai, as a part of the INDIA 2.0 strategy of increasing the service touchpoints and being closer to the customers. The inauguration of these two state-of-the-art service outlets in South and Central Mumbai respectively is a reflection of the region’s potential for the brand and also highlights the increased focus on ensuring that more and more customers enjoy easy access to the brand’s customer-centric after-sales solutions. We are confident that our partnership with Mody Skoda will play an important role, in scaling up the brand, by offering our customers a premium hassle-free ownership experience and utmost peace of mind.”

The first of the workshop facilities are located at Mahalaxmi Bridge, Gali no 18-23, Dr E. Moses Road, Mumbai, Maharashtra and covers over an area of 15,850 sq. ft. The workspace is equipped with 12 bays and more than 40 dedicated after-sales personnel. The facility has a peak capacity to serve 4,600 vehicles per annum. Skoda’s second workshop is located  326, Mathuradas Vasanji Road, Bail Bazaar, Kurla West, Mumbai, Maharashtra and sprawls over a bigger area of 21,000 sq. ft. This workspace offers 25 service bays and has over 60 dedicated after-sales personnel. Peak annual capacity is 7,400 vehicles in this facility.
