Here, we have a new rendering of the WagonR Smile, which is expected to launch in its home market soon. The hatchback will mainly target the fairer sex

Suzuki WagonR is among the most popularly known hatchbacks the world. While the India-spec WagonR, which was launched in January last year, has been a stellar hit, it enjoys an even higher success in the Japanese Domestic Market. Today, however, we have images of the Suzuki WagonR Smile, which carries a unique and distinctive front-end and is in the pipeline as per a recent report by Magazine X. We must say that the upcoming hatchback will be the most adorable WagonR ever. Yet, it will still remind you of the Suzuki Lapin. Magazine X suggests that apart from the front bonnet, the new Suzuki WagonR Smile will not share any component with the regular WagonR.

The front fascia of this rendered Suzuki WagonR Smile gets a full-wide black panel on the top. The blacked-out panel features round projector LED headlamps and ring LED DRL along with orange side blinkers. Just below the blacked-out grille, there are three small vertical slots, which will remind you of the JDM Suzuki Alto. The lower front part of the rendered WagonR Smile gets a simplistic bumper along with a wide air inlet. This model of the hatchback will mainly target the female crowd of the country. The side and rear profile of the car are expected to look similar to that of the ongoing model.

The ongoing India-spec WagonR is powered by two different gasoline powertrain options. The first one is a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol mill that produces 67bhp of maximum power at 5500 rpm and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3500 rpm. On the other hand, the second powertrain option is that of a 1.2-litre, four-pot petrol unit, which puts out power and torque outputs of 82bhp at 6000 rpm and 113 Nm at 4200 rpm. Transmission duties are done by a 5-speed MT or an AMT. The hatchback is priced between Rs 4.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to Rs 5.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
