The latest spy pictures of the Tata Altroz have partially revealed the exterior and interior of the premium hatchback.

Tata Altroz is set to launch this month. Recently, some units of upcoming premium hatchback were seen parking side by side. All of which were carefully covered, however, the peeled wraps gave away the red finish underneath.

The production version of Tata Altroz, for the most part, is similar to the concept car which was displayed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. However, it is notable that the mass-produced Altroz has a different set of wheels. Tata Altroz deploys single-tone 16-inch alloy wheels. Inspired by the IMPACT Design 2.0 philosophy, Tata Altroz will get a sharp design like the Harrier. On the fascia, the Altroz sports a prominent front grille with dual-barrel projector headlight on each end. The spy pictures also reveal some details of the interior, including the dual-tone black and grey combination, flat-bottom wheels, and extensive of chrome garnish on the dashboard. Other features like a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and semi-digital instrument cluster are likely to be included on the Altroz.

Tata Altroz 2019 will be launched at the price range from Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh

Tata Altroz is underpinned by the Alpha ARC platform. About the powertrain, the all-new Altroz is expected to get two petrol engines and one diesel motor, all of which are compliant with the stringent BSVI emission norms. Two petrol engines include a higher output 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor and a less powerful 1.2-litre petrol naturally aspired unit from Tiago. The former with 102 PS and 140Nm on tap is likely to be available on the higher variants. The latter that produces 85PS and 114 Nm is expected to take the powering duty on the lower-range trims. In all likelihood, the only diesel engine might be the 1.5-litre oil burner borrowed from Tata Nexon. This engine is good for the maximum power of 110 PS and 260 Nm. It is likely that Tata Altroz will come solely with a manual gearbox at the beginning and the automatic version would be added in the later stage.

Tata Motors also has a plan for electrifying the Altroz. The electric model of this car is expected to arrive in 2020. As revealed on the Geneva Motor Show, the electric Altroz will receive the range of around 250km-300km. Back to the Altroz, this hatchback will enter the competition with the likes of Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz. The price is expected to range from Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh.
