Tata Nexon hits a truck in a frontal offset impact while negotiating a turn on a hilly road. The car gracefully absorbs the impact to keep all 5 of its occupants safe.

Tata motors have got their hands on the mantra of making safe cars. Recently, the newest offering of the manufacturer – Altroz, got a Global NCAP crash test safety rating of 5 stars. However, this trend of making safer cars started with the Nexon since it was the very first car from the Indian manufacturer to score a full 5 star Global NCAP crash test rating. For the very reason, the car has also earned a huge repute for itself and the manufacturer as well. We earlier reported of an accident where a Nexon fell off a flyover and yet the driver walked off with minor injuries. Today, we came across pictures of another Nexon that met with an accident and proved the car’s mettle to keep the occupants safe in the event of critical mishaps.

The pictures were posted by Mohit Upadhyay on Facebook. His post explained that the mishap took place while he was negotiating a turn in hills and a truck from the opposite hit the car. The front offset impact from a truck is critical as a truck even at walking speed has a lot more momentum than a car at city speeds. However, the sturdy and well-engineered chassis of the Nexon absorbed the impact gracefully, keeping all the occupants safe. The owner claimed, all the passengers walked out of the car without any injury, although the driver suffered some minor injuries on one of his index figures and eyes. The owner also claimed that he is thankful to Tata Motors for manufacturing safe cars.

The Nexon was referred to be the safest Indian car when it scored 5 stars for safety rating, but the new crown-winner for this title is the Mahindra XUV300. The XUV300 has also scored a crash rating of 5 stars for adult safety, but it scored 4 stars for child safety rating, which is higher than the 3-star safety rating scored by the Nexon. Both the cars make up as the safest options available for buyers to choose from in the sub-4m compact SUV space.
