The next-gen Tata Tiago has been spotted testing again under careful camouflage. The test mule has revealed the alterations done to the fascia against the outgoing model.

Taking the inspiration source from the IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy which is also expected to be adopted for the design process of the forthcoming Altroz premium hatchback, the Tata Tiago facelift will bear a considerable resemblance to the Tata Altroz in terms of the styling.

The signature front grille is also raked, which adds to the sportiness of the hatchback. The bumper in the front has been completely newly designed and now bears wider air vents. The fog lamps have also been updated.

Other than that, the home-grown automaker has decided to carry over all the other exterior features from the current Tata Tiago to the facelifted one, for example, the fashionable 15-inch alloy rims available on the top-of-the-line XZ+ variant, the taillights and the rear bumper. Nevertheless, at the launch of the vehicle, the internal lighting nature of the tail lamps is anticipated to be revised.

Since it is only a mid-life update, the changes done to the Tata Tiago will not happen to the motors. Accordingly, the new Tiago is expected to receive power from both petrol and diesel motor options. The former will be a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron unit which can deliver a maximum power of 84 bhp and 114 Nm. The latter is a 1.05-litre Revotorq one which is good for a maximum power/torque output of 69 bhp/140 Nm. The transmission duties on both of the two versions will be undertaken by a five-speed MT gearbox or an AMT unit. Nevertheless, Tata Motors has been reported to shelve the diesel variants’ production due to the BS-VI standards which will be executed from April 1, 2020.
