Sporty Toyota Fortuner TRD Facelift Spotted Ahead of Launch

The updated Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo will be launched in India and take on the like of recently-launched Ford Endeavour Sport.

Earlier this year, Toyota officially revealed the mid-cycle update of the second-gen Fortuner to the global auto enthusiasts. However, a more aggressive version of the SUV has been spotted recently that suggest the imminent launch of the model in the international markets in the future.

The new spy shots completely show us the all-black Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo which boasts of multiple aggressive-looking features on tap. The SUV comes with a completely revised front fascia, LED fog lamps, refreshed front & rear bumpers along with newly-designed dual-tone alloy wheels. The TRD badging on the grille combined with some red highlights also give the SUV a more interesting look.

On the inside, the Toyota Fortuner TRD also receives a few tweaks. The cabin is brimmed with a lot of advanced features such as a massive 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree camera view, wireless phone charging along with powered tailgate with hands-free operation.

Just a while ago, we broke the news about the first spy shots of the facelifted full-size SUV running on the test on the Indian roads, hinting at the feasible launch of the facelifted Fortuner for the Indian market sooner or later.  However, the TRD version of the Fortuner will be launched at a later date. The all-new upcoming Toyota Fortuner TRD will rival the like of Ford Endeavour Sport in India once it arrived in our country.

In Thailand, the Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo is equipped with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder diesel engine making 150 PS of max power and 400 Nm of torque, along with a bigger 2.8-litre motor developing 204 PS/ 500 Nm of torque. It remains to be known if the more powerful 2.8-litre diesel engine can make it to India or not.

While the regular Toyota Fortuner facelift is set to be launched in the coming time, we might not see the Legender variant going on sale in India but get the TRD Sportivo seen in the above pictures instead. The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo might be launched at the price of around Rs 35 – 37 lakh (estimated, ex-showroom).
