Toyota Glanza Waiting Period Soars To Over A Month

The recently launched Toyota Glanza, which is basically a rebadged Maruti Baleno, commands a waiting period of about one month. The Glanza G MT is receiving a phenomenal response from the buyers

The first shared model between Toyota and Suzuki, the Toyota Glanza is a rebadged version of the Maruti Baleno premium hatch. While almost all expected the Toyota’s hatchback to be priced at a premium price tags, it comes as a surprise that the new Glanza was introduced at an aggressive price range of around Rs 7.22 Lakh (for the base model) and Rs 8.90 Lakh (for the top-spec variant). Under Toyota’s badge, the Glanza was launched with two trim levels only, namely G and V.

Toyota has already launched the Glanza for more than a week at an aggressive price ranging from Rs 7.22 to 8.90 Lakh (ex-showroom).

According to Toyota’s dealers, the Toyota Glanza now commands a 01-month waiting period. While the G MT variant of the Glanza is in highest demand since its launch, the top-spec V CVT is in higher demand than the V MT variant. You may know that Toyota’s decision to retain all key features and stay competitive at the price points manages to attract buyers towards its new model. To speak specifically, the Glanza G MT is priced significantly lower than the corresponding Baleno’s Zeta Smart Hybrid by a margin of Rs 65,000 while the features are totally the same. That’s it, not to mention the economical fuel mileage of 23.87 kmpl returned by this variant. On the other hand, the range-topping Toyota Glanza V CVT is seeing higher booking orders compared to the manual counterpart although the waiting period for the top-spec model stands at around two months.

The customers of the Glanza now have to wait a least 04 weeks for the car delivered to their garages.

Mechanically, the G MT variant of the Baleno-based Glanza is propelled by a 90 HP 1.2-litre gasoline engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and a mild-hybrid system. The top-spec Glanza V CVT utilizes an 83 HP 1.2-litre petrol mated to a 5-speed automatic torque converter unit. Price of the Glanza V CVT sits at Rs 8.90 Lakh, on par with the highest Baleno’s Alpha CVT variant.
