Honda will launch the all-new BR-V in India by the end of 2019. The SUV will employ some subtle cosmetical upgrades on the outside and inside.

Japanese carmaker Honda has recently unveiled the facelifted BR-V for the Indonesian market. The seven-seater SUV is expected to hit the Indian shores by the end of this year. Here is the TVC of the 2019 Honda BR-V (facelift), which is only available with a petrol mill in Indonesia.

The updated BR-V gets gloss black grille up front. For better illumination, the SUV employs projector headlamps with fog lamps, which now come embedded in a new looking insert. The BR-V also gets a new set of alloy wheels which looks quite sporty. The upcoming SUV has a muscular rear that employs a sporty looking spoiler with an integrated stop light, combi-LED taillights, faux skid plate and some chrome elements. The interior gets updated with plush leather seats. Moreover, the infotainment needs are now handled by a new touchscreen infotainment system. These are some of the basic differences which one can spot on the upcoming Indonesian-spec BR-V as compared to the ongoing Indian-spec BR-V. The Honda BR-V is the only SUV in its segment which offers a 7-seat layout. The SUV competes with the likes of Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster, both of which don't have a third row of seats.

We can expect that the India-spec Honda BR-V facelift to derive power from a BSVI-compliant version of the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol unit that powers the current car. The free-revving engine develops 117 bhp of power and 145 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include by a 5-speed manual and a CVT. Currently, the Indian model also gets a 1.5-litre i-DTEC turbocharged diesel engine which churns out respective power and torque outputs of 98.6 Bhp and 200 Nm. The engine comes paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

Honda is also planning to launch the HR-V in India. It will be offered in a 5-seater arrangement and will sit between the BR-V and the CR-V. The Honda HR-V will be a lot more premium than the BR-V and the SUV is expected to get powered only by a petrol mill.
