VW has recently launched the new Red & White special editions of Polo and Vento in our market. Except for the new two-tone colour scheme, both the cars are free from any major design or feature update. The new VW Polo and Vento Red & White Edition are offered at a starting price of Rs 9.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively. Talking about the new special edition models, VW India’s marketing team said that Red colour represents fun-to-drive sporty characteristics while White colour shows sophistication.

The 2020 VW Polo Red & White edition gets contrasting black or white coloured roof, and side mirrors are also painted in the same colour shade. Both cars also get “Red & White” badging on the front fender, while the new body graphics are also employed on the doors. The VW Polo special edition model gets white roof and side mirrors. 

Speaking on the new editions, Mr Steffen Knapp, Director, VW Passenger Cars India said, “We are delighted to introduce our special Red & White edition on the Polo and Vento under our annual festive campaign ‘Volksfest 2020’. The initiative is in line with our commitment to continuously engage with the customers through our unique and enhanced feature offerings. The Polo and Vento continue to be strong contenders within their segments, the added dash of style will make an attractive value proposition for our customers.”

The new special edition model is based on the Highline AT trims of the cars. Mechanically, VW Polo & Vento derives power from a BS6-compliant 1.0-litre three-pot turbo petrol unit, which churns out 108bhp of peak power and 175 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The VW Polo AT is rated to offer an ARAI certified mileage of 16.47 kmpl, while the Vento AT returns 16.35 kmpl of fuel efficiency. VW Polo rivals with the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, Tata Altroz and Maruti Baleno, while the VW rub shoulders against Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz, Skoda Rapid and Honda City.
