This article will show you how the new 2020 Hyundai Creta Creta has to offer over the Kia Seltos and vice versa in terms of features.
Hyundai Creta was once the king of SUV segment but things have changed on the advent of its close cousin, Kia Seltos. In 2020, we’ve been watching a hot-blooded game between the Seltos and Creta. We know that many people are still wondering which car to buy between the two, 2020 Creta or Kia Seltos, so we have come up with a comparison between the top-end models of both SUVs to give you a clearer answer. In the Creta vs Seltos comparisons, this video made by Rishab Arora shows you the top-end trims of the two SUVs.
From the look of the SUVs, we think that it’s Kia Seltos that gets a lot more attention from the auto enthusiasts. Though the Creta is still a looker with a bunch of distinctive design bits, the Seltos looks more stylish with a signature tiger-nose grille with dark textured chrome effect, sleek headlamps and distinctive turning indicators.
Design of the 2020 Hyundai Creta is a vast departure from the outgoing model. While there are polarizing ideas about the styling design of the car, we’d like to say that the Creta looks rather futuristic. You can see the latest design trends on the 2020 Creta like the dark chrome treatments on the cascading grille or the vertically-split headlamps setup.
There is a list of features on the new-gen Creta but are missing on the Seltos. The Creta comes with cornering lamps, a voice-controlled panoramic sunroof, twin-tip exhaust, paddle shifters, electric parking brake with auto hold function, welcome function with puddle lamps, touch-based auto healthy purifier, one-touch cruise control, rear-seat headrest cushion along with additional voice recognitions for BlueLink, all of which are given a miss on the Seltos.
In the meantime, to cope up with the challenging game, Kia Seltos gets a bag of tricks up its sleeve to get an edge over the 2020 Creta. They are a 360-degree camera, a HUD, a blind-view mirror, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, mood interior lighting and a manual option for the turbo-petrol model.
2020 Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos adopt the same engine and transmission options under the bonnet. There’s a 1.5-litre petrol engine combined with a 6-speed MT and a CVT, a 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed torque converter along with a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit. For this engine, the Seltos offers a 6-step manual transmission and a 7-speed DCT while the Creta brings in a 7-speed DCT option only.
In final words, it is quite safe to say that the Hyundai Creta gains a small edge over the Seltos in terms of features but the Kia Seltos scores better in terms of styles and sportiness. Currently, the Hyundai Creta retails in the range of Rs 9.99 – 17.2 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the Seltos is priced at around Rs 9.89 – 17.34 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
