Exterior Design

With the facelift, the Maruti Swift will feature a few changes. These changes won’t be radical, but they’ll be noticeable for sure. On the front, the Swift facelift will feature a new radiator grille. The horizontal slats seen on the current one will be replaced by a honeycomb pattern and a thick chrome slat. Sideways, it is likely to get new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels as seen on the international-spec model. While there will be no changes on the rear facet, the Swift facelift is expected to come with the option of a dual-tone paint job with a black finish for the roof. Except for these changes, the Swift facelift will look almost identical to the outgoing model.

Interior & Features

On the inside, the Maruti Swift facelift will likely be donning the same interior theme as the model that is currently on sale in the Indian market. However, there will be certain tweaks to talk of. The first and foremost will be the addition of cruise control buttons on the steering wheel. Other updates include a new Smartplay infotainment unit and a coloured multi-information display. The upholstery will be tweaked a bit to add a sense of freshness inside the cabin. Also, the Swift will come with an engine start/stop function and ESP with hill-hold assist function.

Engine Specifications

The most important change on the 2021 Maruti Swift facelift will be under the hood. The outgoing model’s 1.2L K12M motor will be replaced with the powerful K12N engine. In the facelifted avatar, the 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol motor will put out a rated power output of 90 PS and max torque of 113 Nm. It is an increment of 7 PS over the current Swift. The 1.2L K12N motor currently does duties in the Dzire and Baleno. It is known to offer increased fuel efficiency since it comes with an automatic start/stop system. The tech turns the ignition on and off when the car stops and idles for a while. The transmission options on the Maruti Swift facelift will include a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT.
