Base-model Hyundai Creta is a worthy purchase for the price conscious. However, it misses out on the 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that are available on the top-end trim.
Hyundai Creta is now sold in its second-gen avatar and it is doing great on the sales chart even in such tough times. A big reason that is its starting price of Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Also, the base-spec Creta comes loaded with a lot of features, such as a touchscreen infotainment system, air conditioning, power windows, tilt-adjustable steering wheel, LED DRLs, projector headlamps and more. However, it misses out on the option of alloy wheels and roof rails, which are offered on the next trim in the hierarchy. Also, these are the only design elements that differentiate the base model Hyundai Creta from the mid-spec models from the outside. While the alloy wheels can be installed as an aftermarket accessory, the OEM-spec roof rails are a tough find.
To prove our point, in the pictures above is the base-spec Hyundai Creta that has been fitted with a set of shiny 17-inch alloy wheels. These wheels come from KB Tyres, who are based out of Ludhiana, Punjab. The 5-spoke star-shaped rims are finished in hyper silver and are a Mercedes-Benz replica. Also, a Mercedes-Benz logo can be seen around their hubs.
While we don’t know the aspect ratio of the tyres they are shod with, we can tell that it is higher than that of stock tyres. From the factory, the base-spec Creta comes with 16-inch steel rims that are shod with 205/65 section tyres. The top-spec variants of the Creta, on the other hand, come with 17-inch diamond-cut wheels that are draped in 215/60 section tyres.
Talking of the features, the 2020 Creta boasts of a long features list, especially on the top-end trims. It comes with full-size panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable driver seat, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with BlueLink connected car tech and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and steering-mounted paddle shifters. On the safety front, the Creta gets a lot of safety equipment on board, such as six airbags, rear parking camera with dynamic guidelines, rear parking sensors, vehicle stability assist, hill climb assist, electronic parking brake, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD, and rear disc brake.
