Check Out This Amazingly Detailed Miniature Model Of New Mahindra Thar - VIDEO

The all-new Mahindra Thar has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response since its launch this year. Waiting periods currently stretch to 7 months, and you can’t book a new one till May 2021. Mahindra is ramping up production by 50% from January, but even then the waiting periods will be lengthy. The second-generation Thar comes a decade after its predecessor, and the old one has become a legend among the off-roading community. The new one is aimed at being just as good off-road but also brings in newfound capabilities on the road and as a daily driver. Today we came across this video which shows how to make a miniature version of the new Mahindra Thar.

The video has been uploaded by CreatorMonk on YouTube, and it shows the process to make this model Mahindra Thar. The creator makes the whole model out of a sheet of foam, and it starts by drawing the side profile of the new Thar on to the board. Once it is done, the artist cuts it out and repeats the process to get two similar pieces. The next step is to make the base and the floor, and we see small pieces of foam being cut to make the dashboard of the new Thar.

The seats, tyres and the wheels of this model Mahindra Thar all use multiple layers of foam to give the proper three-dimensional feel. After this and the interiors are done, the artist puts on a roof for the top and carves out both doors. After putting the finishing touches of attaching the front bumper, side cladding, bonnet, front grille and the headlamp he paints a layer of primer on the model. After the primer has dried, the hardtop is removed and the model Thar is painted in a shade of red. The interiors, cladding, roof and tyres are painted black. The alloy wheels are finished in gunmetal grey while all the window areas are covered with transparent plastic. The effort and time spent is reflected nicely on the finished product and is probably the best model Mahindra Thar we have seen yet.

Prices for the 2020 Mahindra Thar start from Rs 9.80 lakh and go up to Rs 13.75 lakh. You can choose between 2 engine options, a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel, and a 2-litre turbo-petrol. The oil-burner makes 130 PS/320 Nm of peak power and torque figures while the petrol makes 150 PS/320 Nm of max power and torque. You get two transmission options for both the powertrains, A 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed automatic. The new-gen Thar also comes with a low-range gearbox and a transfer case along with a mechanically-locking rear differential, which should make it as good as its beloved predecessor off-road.
