How About A Ford EcoSport With Monster Truck Underpinnings?

While it was the Premier Rio that kick started the sub-4-metre SUV segment, it's the Ford EcoSport that brought a lot of limelight and attention to this class of vehicles. With the well recognized Ford’s badge, affordable pricing, and butch looks, the EcoSport attracted a lot of buyers towards itself. With a high set bonnet, wraparound rear windscreen, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel, the EcoSport looks like a proportionately scaled-down version of a full-size SUV. In India, Ford introduced the EcoSport with a front-wheel-drive layout only. However, in the international markets, it even gets the option of an AWD format as well. But, ever thought, how would the EcoSport look like with a lift kit in place? 

Here’s an example of the Ford EcoSport that has been lifted using some digital tools. It, for sure, looks badass in the picture, but there’s a catch. This is originally an image of an Isuzu D-Max V-Cross with a 5-inch lift kit. The truck belongs to Motorgrapher Babs, who hails from Kerela. However, some EcoSport admirer seems to have morphed the image to give the EcoSport a really bold stance.

Performing such modification to the EcoSport, in reality, is next to impossible. As the EcoSport comes with a monocoque chassis, installing a lift kit would increase the weight and tension on the frame. Overall, this digitally customized EcoSport does look alluring, but such a modification can be easily performed not on the EcoSport but its bigger sibling, the Endeavour.

Talking of the mechanical specifications of the Ford EcoSport, it comes with 3 engine options – 1.5L petrol, 1.0L turbo-petrol, and 1.5L diesel. The 1.5L petrol motor is a 3-cylinder naturally aspirated setup that puts out a peak power output of 123 PS and 150 Nm of max torque. It can be had mated to either a 5-speed MT or a 6-speed AT.

The 1.5L diesel is the same 4-cylinder turbocharged unit as the Figo and Aspire. It develops 100 PS of peak power and 205 Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a 5-speed MT only. The last on the list is a 1.0L 3-pot turbocharged petrol engine that develops a rated power and torque output of 125 PS and 170 Nm, respectively. It is offered with a 6-speed MT only.
