New Hyundai i20 has gone on sale at an introductory price of Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model is on sale in three engine variants and four trim options, with the top two trims getting 16-inch machine-cut mags

Earlier this month, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the second-largest carmaker and the largest exporter of cars on our shores, launched the third genration avatar of its premium hatchback, Hyundai i20. In its latest version, the Maruti Baleno- and Tata Altroz-rival comes across as a more spacious, more feature-laden, and, basically, a more potent adversary to all other hatchbacks in its price segment. Speaking of the features, the new model gets trendy 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. However, as has been the case in many parts of the country, some people have already decided to use upsize rims on the new model. Seen below is the first-ever known example of a new-gen Hyundai i20 that sports trendy 17-inch aftermarket alloy wheels.

The machine-cut mags are available only on the Asta and Asta(O) variants. Meanwhile, these aftermarket alloy wheels do a fair bit to jazz up the appearance of this mid-spec Sportz variant.

It must be noted here that the new Hyundai i20 has gone on sale with three engine options- 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel. The base petrol motor is on sale with manual and CVT options, while the turbocharged gasoline-burner is available with a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT.
