Here's a rendering of the Suzuki Jimny that gives you an idea of how it would look like with a soft-top.

Fourth-gen Suzuki Jimny is attracting all the attention and love that it actually deserves. It was initially launched in Japan and then made its way to other foreign markets across the globe. India is also expected to get the Jimny really soon but in a long-wheelbase form. Right now, the automaker only sells the short wheelbase model of the car. Also, it is offered as a hard-top version only, which wasn't the case with the first and second generations of the car. But, what if Suzuki offers the current-gen Jimny with a soft-top? Here's a neat rendering of the Jimny with a soft-top to give you an idea that how it would look like.

The digitally designed image shows that the convertible Suzuki Jimny will have a funky appeal altogether. While the hard-top version of the Jimny boasts of a boxy silhouette, the soft-hat version will look rather upmarket. The off-roader will continue to be propelled by a 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated gasoline engine. The K15B petrol motor will churn out 106 PS of peak power and 138 Nm of twisting force. Transmission duties will be done by a 5-speed MT or an optional 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Like the regular Suzuki Jimny, the new convertible version of the SUV will be offered with a four-wheel-drive layout as a standard fitment. The off-roader will sit on the ladder frame chassis and suspension duties will be done by the company’s new multi-link suspension setup with rigid axles at both the ends. The SUV will offer an impressive ground clearance, which will help it tackle the treacherous terrains.

The SUV will come loaded with features like driver & passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, and driving modes. It’ll also employ a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The soft-top Suzuki Jimny will only be offered in a short-wheelbase variant. This means that the chances of India getting one are really scarce. However, the 3-door Suzuki Jimny Sierra was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo early this year. Reports suggest that the automaker has plans to introduce a 5-door version of the SUV exclusively for the Indian market. Once launched, it’ll compete with the likes of upcoming new-gen Mahindra Thar.
