Tata Nexon was the first car to receive a 5-star crash test rating by Global-NCAP. Following the announcement, Nexon owners became confident enough about their possessions. They can also be seen posting pictures of their car’s accident on social media platforms to boast of the 5-star crash test rating. We recently came across a set of pictures, but this time, the owner was confused if the service centre will repair the damaged part or change the complete panel under an insurance claim. The car in the pictures belongs to Dr Chirag Patel and was hit by a truck. However, the mishap has damaged the right-hand side rear quarter panel of the car along with a major scratch on the rear bumper.

On the other hand, the heavy-duty metal bumper of the truck has suffered damages as well. Answering the concern raised by Nexon owner, yes, the service centre will repair the damages under the insurance. Since the rear fender is punctured, the service centre will not change it as a whole. A small part of the fender will be replaced by cutting and welding processes. The joints will then be smoothed out with the help of a grinder while filling in putty at the same time. The rear fenders of the car are a part of the monocoque, unlike the bolt-on front fenders. Therefore, replacing them as a whole is a lot of task that requires a lot of money. The rear fender makes for a car’s rocker panel and support for the roof.
