Like the 2020 Hyundai Creta, even the Kia Seltos is expected to receive a 3-row variant, which has been visualized through a digital rendering

Kia Seltos has been outperforming all the competitors in its segment ever since it has been launched. The car is offered with a host of engine-transmission-variant options. The prices for this 5-seater crossover start as low as Rs. 9.98 lakh and there is a variant to suit every budget. These are the primary reasons behind the car’s successful run in the Indian market. However, its mechanical twin – Hyundai Creta - is now all set to get itself an extra pair of seats to attract those looking for a 7-seat C-SUV in the market. With the spy shots of the upcoming model surfacing internet, rumours abound that even the Seltos will receive a 3-row variant in future.

It should be noted here that the carmaker is already selling a long-wheelbase version of the Seltos in China as ‘KX3’. But for a fact, the 7-seater version of the Seltos will sport a lot of changes in comparison to its 5-seater counterpart. To give you folks a brief idea, we had our in-house digital illustrator Shoeb R. Kalania at the desk to develop a neat render of the car. And, here it is.

It can be seen in the video that the 7-seater Seltos will get a revised front-end. The bumper will see a few tweaks on its lower end with sleeker fog lamp housings. The biggest and most prominent change on the car will be seen in the side profile. It will measure a little extra in terms of length than the outgoing 5-seater iteration of the car.

Most of that extra length will come from the extended rear overhang. As a result, the rear quarter-glass will also be enlarged, further improving the greenhouse area of the car. Lastly, the rear hatch will be new and should have a much more upright stance. This will carve out some extra recline angle for the last bench and a few more litres in the boot space.

Kia Seltos 7-Seater Will Look Like This, Launch In 2021

The 7-seater version of the Kia Seltos is expected to feature a full-size panoramic sunroof as on the China-spec KX3.

Mechanically, the 7-seater Kia Seltos will remain the same as its 5-seater counterpart. It will be offered with the same set of engines – 115 PS 1.5L petrol, 115 PS 1.5L diesel, and 140 PS 1.4L turbo-petrol with manual and automatic gearbox options. With an expected launch in late 2021, the 7-seater Seltos will fight against the upcoming 7-seater Creta, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Gravitas.
