The facelifted Toyota Innova Crysta has recently been introduced to India with a price range of INR 16.26 lakh to INR 24.33 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, Toyota is preparing to launch the facelifted Toyota Fortuner at the beginning of next year. The Japanese automaker has already commenced the unofficial bookings for the SUV at select dealerships for an initial sum of INR 50,000. The upcoming Toyota Fortuner is expected to feature four main alterations which are going to be discussed below.

Most of the aesthetic updates will be made to the front. These include a new grille, LED headlights with LED DRLs, restyled fog lights and a new silver skid plate. The SUV will also be equipped with a redesigned alloy wheels and LED taillights.

The Thai-spec Fortuner features an all-black interior paint scheme, a new instrument cluster and a wide touchscreen infotainment system. The Fortuner Legender is replete with some new features such as a powered tailgate with the sweep-to-open feature, wireless charging and a 360-degree parking camera. The India-spec new Toyota Fortuner will be packed with all of these features.

More Power

As regards the powertrains, the 2.7-litre gasoline burner is likely to be retained with the same figure output of 166 PS against 245 Nm in the updated Fortuner. The Thai-spec Fortuner receives its power from a 2.8-litre turbo diesel motor which can deliver 204 PS against 500 Nm. The India-bound version is anticipated to come with the more powerful oil burner. While the petrol motor will be mated to a 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT, the oil burner will be paired with a 6-speed MT/AT. The 2WD system will be standard across all the variants; in the meanwhile, the 4WD system will be exclusive to the diesel ones.

How About XL-Size 22-inch Alloys on Toyota Fortuner?

The Toyota Fortuner is currently priced from INR 28.66 lakh to INR 36.88 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model, however, is very likely to cost a tad more. However, our belief is that the higher price tag will be justified through the additional features and fresher aesthetics.
