Upcoming Citroen Cars & SUVs in India - C5 Aircross to Berlingo XL

The French automaker Citroen has plans to introduce new cars in our market in the coming years. The first-ever vehicle to be introduced by the carmaker in our market will be the Citroen C5 Aircross and will be followed by a sub-4-meter SUV and mid-size SUV. Citroen has also planned to introduce cars of various body styles like hatchbacks, sedans, and MPVs. Here’s the list of upcoming Citroen hatchbacks and SUVs, which are expected to hit the Indian shores in the near future. 

Citroen C5 Aircross

The Citroen C5 Aircross will launch in our market in the coming months. Once launched, it’ll rival with the likes of Hyundai Tucson. It will be brought in our country via CBU route and is likely to be priced around 28 lakh. Mechanically, it’ll derive power from 2.0-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. The engine will come paired to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Citroen C21

The C21 will be the company’s sub-4m compact-SUV for our market, which is slated to launch by this year. It’ll rub shoulders against the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Kia Sonet Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue and Ford EcoSport. The SUV will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol mill, which is capable of shredding out 130 Bhp of peak power. 

Citroen Compact SUV

Reports suggest that the automaker has also planned to enter the highly-competitive compact SUV segment by next year. In this segment, it will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Kia Seltos. The all-new compact SUV will be based on the company’s CMP (EMP1) platform, which also underpins the Peugeot 208. It will get propelled by a 1.2-litre turbocharged gasoline mill. 

Citroen CC21

The Citroen CC21 will be an electric SUV and is expected to be designed and developed on a small hatchback platform. The SUV will be developed for emerging markets like India. The mini electric SUV will compete with the likes of upcoming Tata HBX and eKUV100. It is expected to be priced at a starting price of Rs 8 lakh. 

Citroen Berlingo XL

In the coming months, Citroen has plans to launch the Berlingo XL. Nevertheless, there is no official confirmation about its India launch. The upcoming Citroen MPV will be based on an all-new platform and is likely to be offered in Standard and Longer variants measuring 4.4 meters and 4.75 meters respectively. It will be offered with petrol and diesel engine options, which will come mated to a manual and automatic transmission.
