Mahindra XUV300 Sportz will be launched this year

Mahindra XUV300 Sportz first made its debut at the Auto Expo 2020. This model was introduced as the sportier version of the regular Mahindra XUV300. According to the initial plan, the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz will be launched during the first quarter of 2020. However, just like other car manufacturers, Mahindra had to delay the launch of this car toward the second haft of 2020 due to the global health crisis.

Upcoming Mahindra XUV300 Sportz Design Updates

At the Auto Expo 2020, the displayed vehicle was a near-production model. The final production version will look essentially similar to the showcased model. Compared to the original Mahindra XUV300, the XUV300 Sportz gets some additional elements like a Sportz moniker, new body graphics and red accent on the front brake callipers.

On the inside, the sporty theme will also be featured on the inside of the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz. Unlike the standard model, Mahindra XUV300 will come with an all-black interior scheme with contrasting-stitching seats, and red highlights on the dashboard. These new design elements will enhance the sporty quotient of the Mahindra XUV300.

Upcoming Mahindra XUV300 Sportz Features

Mahindra XUV300 Sportz is based on the top-spec W8 variant of the regular line-up. Accordingly, the new model will also come will the similar feature offerings available on the W8. It means that the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 will be fully-equipped with a load of high-end features like 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, powered sunroof,  heated wing mirror, auto-dimming rearview mirror, tyre pressure monitoring, leatherette upholstery, and 6 airbags.

Upcoming Mahindra XUV300 Sportz Powertrain

Apart from the cosmetic updates, what distinguishes the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz from the standard version is its new 1.2-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine. This engine was also showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 along with other two engines, the 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre engine. The latter two engines can deliver power outputs of 163bhp/280Nm and 190bhp/380Nm, respectively while the 1.2-litre engine belts out a top power of 130 Bhp and a maximum torque of 230 Nm. Compared to the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is powering the standard version, the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz’s new motor is more powerful. Mahindra XUV300 Sportz will also be the most powerful engine in its class. It will even beat its direct rival, the Hyundai Venue. These new engines will be mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission. However, in the beginning, the 1.2-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol engine will get the manual gearbox only.
