A video of the Hyundai Venue shows the vehicle overcoming the challenging climatic conditions that the snow-capped Himalayas throw at it

On sale since last year, the Hyundai Venue has been one of the most popular compact SUVs on sale in the country. The sub-4-metre model has been tailor-made to suit the tough conditions of India and this is something that comes from days of fine-tuning after data collected from testing in some of the hareshest climatic conditions in the country. Seen below is a video of a test mule of Venue that shows the model going through extensive testing in sub-zero temperature in the mighty Himalayas.

Hyundai Venue - the first connected SUV in India

The video shows a test mule of the Hyundai Venue going through the route between the Jim Corbett National Park and Nainital in Uttrakhand. As per the video, the Venue drives through the twisted roads of the Himalayas before reaching the altitude of 7,000 feet. After that, the Venue also overcomes a snow-coverred road in sub-zero temperatures.

The Hyundai Venue goes through a snowy road at a temperature of -7 degrees.

The Hyundai Venue looks like a smaller version of the previous-gen Creta, which isn't a bad thing, especially if you consider that the latter has been a favourite of the compact SUV buyers. The exterior features traditional Hyundai design elements, like a Cascading grille and multi-level headlamp arrangement with sleek LED DRLs at hood-level. The interior offers top notch fit and finish and a range of features, including the BlueLink connectivity suite with 33 applications. Out of these, 10 apps are India-specific. The connectivity suite is powered by a Vodafone-Idea-sourced eSIM, which is used as a connecting tool between the car and the cloud.

The motor options of the Hyundai Venue include three different units: a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor, a 1.5-lire diesel unit and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. The transmission duties will be undertaken by both MT and AT gearbox. Currently, the Hyundai Venue lags behind the Maruti Vitara Brezza on the sales charts but we won't be surprised to see this compact SUV overtake the long-standing segment-leader in the long run.
