2020 Tata Nexon facelift has been spied for the first time wearing heavy camouflage, thereby giving a slight hint of expected changes on the front fascia. The car will now come with added features like automatic rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, cruise control, sunroof, and a bigger touch screen unit.

The Tata Nexon has been due for an update since the manufacturer has adapted to the updated Impact Design 2.0 philosophy with the launch of harrier and showcasing other products like Altroz and Buzzard on the same design philosophy. With newer products proliferating the segment, Tata Nexon is in its current avatar is finding it tough to match up with the likes of Hyundai Venue and Mahindra XUV 3OO. Launched in 2017, Nexon remained as the second best-selling car after the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, which topped the sales chart for almost 3 years, until it was recently replaced by the Hyundai’s Venue.

Front fascia of 2020 Tata Nexon has been spied recently, thereby giving us a hint of updates it would carry.

The recent spy pics of Tata Nexon which surfaced over the internet showed the new steering wheel and an ICE unit with a larger touch screen display, restricted on giving any hint of what could be the possible changes made to the exterior of the car. The new and clear pictures of the exterior have now been snapped by the folks at GaadiWaadi.com.

The pictured car wears heavy camouflage but gives a strong hint of what all changes will be made on the exterior front. To incorporate the Impact Design 2.0 philosophy, Nexon gets a completely revised front-end with changes to bonnet design, headlamp cluster, and front bumper. The headlamps appear to be sleeker, and with bonnet taking over a much more religionistic approach. The headlamps will incorporate a new pattern for the LED-DRLs giving the car a sportier yet elegant appeal. With the use of a sleeker grille the car will get an applauding front fascia, which will match the lines with its elder sibling, the Tata Harrier.

On the inside, Tata Nexon has a purposefully designed dashboard which does suit to generic Indian eyes, and we believe Tata would not mess around with. The car will get a newer iteration of its steering wheels to house the cruise control buttons and to freshen up the interiors. Nexon is also expected to get a sunroof now with this facelift, to match shoulders with the competition. While it already had a decent size touch screen unit, Tata is keen on replacing that with a bigger and better one.

For the feature list, this time again Tata will not leave any stone unturned, the 2020 Tata Nexon facelift will come with automatic rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, automatic headlamps, and a better and improved voice-command controls over the current feature list on offer. What’s not so sure about is, will Tata make it their first connected vehicle to roll out from their stable or not.

Revised headlamp cluster and bonnet design of 2020 Tata Nexon facelift have been spied in the latest facelift.

The drivetrain is also going to be upgraded to meet the newer emission norm which comes in effect from April 1st, 2020. The Nexon is most likely to sports the current 1.2L Revotron petrol and 1.5L Revotorq diesel-powered units with driving modes in BS6 compliant specifications. With BS6 emission norms kicking in from April 1st, 2020, Nexon would be launched around the second quarter of 2020. With an image of the safest car produced from any Indian manufacturer, backed up by the 5-star global NCAP crash test rating, the Nexon has a lot on its side. How well does this facelift takes on the competition would be an interesting watch.
