Annual World Car Awards Test Drive Gets Much Attention

First initiated in 2014, the World Car L.A Test Drives took place simultaneously with the Los Angeles Auto Show with only under 10 cars in participation. The number has been rising considerably with overall 38 models and variants attending in this year event. Those cars coming from various manufacturers all over the world compete in the different categories including the World Car of the Year 2019, World Green Car, World Car Design, World Urban Car, World Performance Car and the World Luxury Car.

The original plea of this programme was a playground restricted for only North America specific models; however, the outside carmakers also paid much concern about the Award so it was opened to be a larger competition. The various manufacturers outside the boundary could be mentioned as BMW, Toyota, Honda, Jaguar, Jeep, Lexus, Volvo, Aston Martin, Genesis, Nissan, Infiniti, Kia, McLaren, etc.

The Sweden carmaker also joined in the event with its Volvo S60 and Volvo XC40

The increasing response to the World Car Award shows great enthusiasm from the global car brands in which their vehicles are displayed and tested to deliver the attractive design and performance. Besides, it also welcomes 48 jurors from 18 nations coming to Los Angeles for the event, representing half of the international jury who will make the decision on choosing the winners in the above-mentioned categories.

In addition to many jurors from the home place, there are a number of jurors from the United Kingdom, Japan, China, Australia, India and many more. The category of the World Performance Car draws a tremendous attention from the enthusiasts. Aston Martin Vantage, McLaren 720S or the BMW M2 are three “giant man” in the race. Some others noticeable vehicles are the Jaguar I-Pace, Honda Clarity, Hyundai Nexo, Volvo XC40 or Volvo S60.

The L.A Test Drive will be one part of the overall event that brings in opportunities to drive the cars in reality and give the jury a tool to give the final vote.
