Audi A4 Facelift Goes On Sale In India at Rs 42.34 Lakh - Complete Details

Audi A4 is among the first new vehicles to enter the Indian market this year, as it is launched at a starting price of Rs 42.34 lakh (ex-showroom). The launch of Audi A4 facelift marks the return of this model after it was discontinued in early 2020 due to the implementation of the BSVI norms.

Previously, back in 2019, the Audi A4 received a minor facelift. It was expected that the second facelift will come with more extensive updates than before. Interestingly, the 2020 Audi A4 returns with a thoroughly revised design and addition of extra goodies on the inside.

On the front end, the A4 facelift features Audi’s newest hexagonal single-frame grille design. There is also a refreshed front bumper, new fog lamp housings along with new LED headlamps and LED DRLs. Similar treatments of a revised bumper and new foglights can be seen for the rear end design. Compared to the previous model, the Audi A4 facelift looks sportier than before.

The interior design has undergone a major makeover. Audi A4 is now available with a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Audi's latest MMI user interface. In addition, it also gets Audi's virtual cockpit instrument cluster, ambient lighting, electric sunroof, electrically adjustable front seats, and multi-zone climate control. Apart from these feature additions, the interior design remains mostly identical to the previous version.

The updated Audi A4 facelift sources power from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder TFSI petrol engine which is capable of churning out 190 BHP. The new engine is more powerful than the old 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produced a top power of 150 BHP. The power is delivered to the front wheels via a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Audi, however, is not offering the option of a diesel engine this time.

The Audi A4 facelift comes in two variants - Premium Plus and Technology. These variants are priced at Rs 42.34 lakh and Rs 46.67 lakh, respectively. Audi A4 will continue to take on the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Jaguar XE. The launch of the Audi A4 facelift kicks off Audi’s strategy for 2021. According to this plan, Audi will launch a new vehicle every other month. New models like A3, Q3, Q5 and Q7 are all-set to hit the showroom floors this year.
