Book New Mahindra Thar Now, Get Delivery In 2022!

In October last year, Mahindra launched the new-gen Thar in the Indian market. Impressively, the second-gen Mahindra Thar turned out to be a thoroughly different car in comparison to its previous-gen counterpart. It featured retro-modern styling, contemporary interior, numerous top options, multiple engine-gearbox choices, and a long feature list. With all of these attributes on its side, the new Mahindra Thar made the success look easy. Also, it now has a waiting period of over 10 months. If a customer books one today, the car will be delivered by the end of this year or early 2022.

The new-gen Thar is offered in a total of 6 colour options, 4 engine-gearbox configurations, and two variants. However, it is the diesel-manual variant with the hardtop roof and Napoli Black paint scheme that has managed to score the longest waiting period of all the trims. As confirmed by our dealer sources, its waiting period is ranging between 11-12 months. The petrol trims, on the other hand, enjoy a rather low waiting period in comparison to their diesel counterparts.

The new Mahindra Thar is offered with two engine options – 2.0L mStallion turbo-petrol and 2.2L mHawk turbocharged diesel. The former is tuned to develop a rated power output of 150 Hp and max torque of 320 Nm, while the latter produces 130 Hp against 300 Nm. Transmission options on the new Thar include a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed automatic. Also, it gets a 4x4 transfer case as a standard affair along with a mechanically-locking rear differential. The top-end trim gets the added convenience of brake-locking front axles.

Talking of the features, the new-gen Mahindra Thar comes with a slew of them. The list includes a touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, satellite navigation, climate control, remote door locking, power windows, power-adjustable & foldable ORVMs and more. For the safety of occupants, the Thar now comes with dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, ESP, TPMS, front seat belt reminders, high-speed alerts, rear parking sensors, roll cage, and 3-point seat belts for all occupants. Prices for the new-gen Thar start at Rs. 12.10 lakh and go up to Rs. 14.15 lakh.
