Citroen CC21 Interior Spied With Huge Centre Touchscreen

Citroen is set to mark its entrance in the Indian market with the launch of the long-awaited Citroen C5 Aircross on April 7. While the first offering will mostly target at the premium segment, the second model, the Citroen CC21, will aim at the mass market segment with a more affordable price. Launched into the hottest segment of sub-compact SUVs, Citroen CC21 will take on the likes of Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and more. This upcoming SUV is currently at the development stage. It has been spotted during testing a few times now. The newest spy images provided us with some details of CC21’s interior design.

Citroen CC21 was spied again, revealing some small interior details

On these new spy images, both the exterior and interior are well-covered in wraps. However, a closer look gives out some important details. One of the highlights on the inside is the presence of a large floating touchscreen infotainment system. Even though it is hard to tell the exact size of this display, by the look of it, we are pretty sure that it will be massive, and possibly, one of the largest in the segment. Under the touchscreen lies the central AC vents which are placed horizontally instead of vertically like in the Citroen C5 Aircross. We can also spot the binnacle instrument clusters behind the multi-function steering wheel.

As for the exterior, the Citroen CC21 seems to sport a curvy design. On the front, it is likely to get the split-up LED headlight setting. It will come with a signature Citroen grille. Similar to the C5 Aircross, the CC21 is expected to get contrasting accents on the bumper and on the sides. Even though it is heavily camouflaged, it is obvious that the CC21 looks quite small, compared to the standard of the sub-compact SUVs. In all likelihood, the upcoming CC21 will undercut most sub-compact SUVs in the market.

Citroen CC21 will compete in the sub-compact SUV segment

Mechanical-wise, the Citroen CC21 is underpinned by the revised Common Modular Platform (CMP) architecture. Under the hood, Citroen CC21 will get a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit as its engine options in India. It is one of the three C-Cubed models that are planned for the Indian market. Even though this model will also launch internationally, it is developed specifically for our market.

With its second product, Citroen will provide a high level of localization, allowing the carmaker to price this model aggressively. It is not a big surprise if the Citroen CC21 is priced around the 5 lakh mark. With this attractive pricing, Citroen expects to attract a good number of buyers in India. Citroen CC21 is expected to enter the market during the festive season. The French car brand also has other new upcoming models lining up to launch in India.
