Honda Cars India July 2021 Sales Report - Domestic & Export

Honda Cars India has shared its July 2021 sales report that includes both domestic and export figures. The company has sold 6,055 units in India whereas the exports were limited to 918 units last month.

In the corresponding period last year, Honda Cars India had recorded 5,383 units in domestic sales amid COVID-19 related operational restrictions. On the other hand, the export numbers stood at 282.

Speaking about the current business situation, Mr. Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President and Director, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd, said:

We achieved our production ramp-up from the last week of July and have streamlined supplies in line with market activity. Barring few locations, dealer outlets were mostly operational last month, albeit with lesser capacity. The market sentiment has improved amidst the prevailing lower COVID infection rate and we expect the upcoming festive period will help the industry to maintain this momentum. However, we will keep a closer watch on the challenges related to the pandemic and the rising cost of acquisition of cars due to the price hike from this month.

In comparison, in June 2021, Honda Cars India sold 4,767 units in the domestic market. In the corresponding period last year, the brand had registered only 1,398 units amidst operational restrictions of the COVID-led national lockdown. On the other hand, the company had exported 1,241 cars in June 2021. In June 2020, the export numbers stood at just 142.

For reference, in March 2021, Honda Cars India had sold 7,103 units in the country whereas, in April, the figure increased to 9,072; which is a growth of 27.7%.
