It is reported earlier that Hummer will make its much-awaited comeback to the automotive market with a new full-electric vehicle. The new Hummer EV was slated to be revealed in May. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the unveiling of the Hummer EV was delayed to October. Recently, the car manufacturer has released a new teaser for this new highly-anticipated vehicle.

Hummer EV is set to be fully revealed next month

The latest video teaser has highlighted the special function called the Crab mode, which is something you might have never heard of before. According to GMC, the Crab mode will allow the vehicle to move in the diagonal direction. With the help of rear-wheel steering, the Hummer EV can direct all four wheels to move in the same direction, enabling the car to move sideways. This function will be a game-changer - or as what GM calls it, “A Revolutionary Turn” - when it comes to the off-roading capabilities. It is believed that this unique function will help Hummer EV to take a huge leap in terms of manoeuvrability. Moreover, it will be highly appreciated if this feature can come handy in parallel parking.

Apart from showing the outstanding new drive mode highlight, the video also gives us a closer look at the wheel design of the new Hummer EV. It appears that the upcoming EV SUV will come with massive tyres with rugged alloy design. The new TVC also shows the top view of the Hummer EV. Apparently, the Hummer EV will come with a removable roof. For the full exterior reveal, we would have to wait until October 20. We can totally expect to see the new EV to carry forward the robust and monstrous styling tradition of previous Hummer SUVs.

Hummer EV is claimed to come with an extraordinary performance

It is also revealed that the upcoming Hummer EV will be powered by a 2000 kWh Ultium battery set-up. This battery pack is likely to pull out a whopping top power of 1000 Bhp and an insanely mind-blowing peak torque of 15,592 Nm. For the record, the massive SUV is claimed to take only 3 seconds to sprint from 0 to 96 kmph. This startling number ensures that this SUV will be able to rub shoulder with other light-weight supercars.

The launch of the Hummer EV is expected to take place next year. Upon its arrival, the new vehicle from GM will directly rival against the likes of Tesla Cybertruck which is also scheduled to enter the market next year.
