Hyundai Could Launch Toyota Innova Crysta and Fortuner Rivals

As per a recent report, Hyundai Motor India is considering launching a couple of new vehicles for the premium segment in our market. Studies are conducted with regard to the feasibility of these products. It is reported that Hyundai is working on a “multi-seater high occupancy vehicle” that will take on the Toyota Innova Crysta, Kia Carnival in the premium sector as well as the below-segment Maruti Ertiga.

Hyundai Motor is considering a Toyota Innova Crysta rivalling MPV and a full-sized SUV 

Alongside the premium MPV, S S Kim, Hyundai India’s Director and CEO, revealed that the company is also considering introducing a new premium SUV to India market as well. Previously, Hyundai also considered the Santa Fe to enter the SUV space and go against the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. However, both of the MPV and the full-sized SUV are under consideration and if these vehicles pass the consideration stage, they are still a couple of years away from actual launches.

Hyundai is expanding its influence in the SUV segment where it already holds an important position with a wide range of hot selling vehicles. Last year, Hyundai introduced the Venue in the sub-four-meter SUV space and this car quicky came into prominence with a high sales volume. After the success of the Hyundai Venue, this year, the South Korean car brand has launched the 2020 Hyundai Creta at the starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh. Recently, Hyundai Creta was overshadowed by the newly-arrived Kia Seltos. The new update is expected to refresh its appeal to the car buyers and help the Creta to climb back to the throne. In the meanwhile, Hyundai Kona electric is selling quite well while another SUV, Hyundai Tucson is up for new update later this year.

Hyundai will expand its share in the SUV segment in the future

Hyundai is currently the leading car manufacturer in the SUV space. It is of great importance to keep the brand name in relevance in this segment for the upcoming years, especially when the SUV space is the most prosperous sector in the automobile market at the moment.
