Hyundai India Rolls Out Fastest 3 Millionth Car For Export Market

Hyundai India recently rolled-off the 3-Millionth car for export. Apart from this achievement, Hyundai also revealed its plans about what all cars and engines would Hyundai be introducing in India.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. has been performing quite well. The manufacturer holds the second-place in terms of market share in India. All this achievement was possible for Hyundai with a flexible and efficient manufacturing unit located in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu. This unit is capable enough to endorse the most advanced processes of manufacturing, quality checks, and prototype testing. With a world-class engineering plant, the Indian subsidiary of the South Korean car manufacturer has a capacity to fulfil domestic as well as international demand from the export markets. The manufacturer has recently achieved an export milestone by rolling the fastest 3 millionth export car off its production line.

The 3 millionth export car that rolled off the production line was an LHD Hyundai Aura. With this event, Hyundai also became the very first manufacturer in India to export 3 million cars from its Chennai-based factory. It took 21 years for Hyundai to achieve this milestone. The manufacturer started its export operations back in 1999 with just 20 Santro sent to Nepal. Although, with this export route, Hyundai Motor India Ltd could export one lakh cars in just four years and 10 months. The company has a strong presence in the export market as the manufacturer exports Made-In-India cars to 88 different countries of 4 different continents.

Hyundai, while announcing the successful achievement of this milestone, also shed a slight hint on a few of its future strategies. The manufacturer revealed its upcoming engine lineup for India, which includes 3 BS-6 diesel engines with 1.2L, 1.5L, and 2.0L of displacement. The 1.2L and 1.5L diesel engines will be manufactured in India, while the 2.0L diesel unit will be a direct import for the cars like Tucson facelift and more. In addition to this, Mr S S Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai India, also confirmed the unveiling of next-generation Elite i20, next-gen Creta, Verna Facelift, Tucson Facelift, and a 5-door hatchback at the Auto Expo 2020.

Hyundai also confirmed that the 1.5L turbo-diesel engine of the Kia Seltos, which is a direct import, will be manufactured in India with the launch of new versions of Creta and Verna. With local manufacturing of this engine, we believe that Hyundai will be able to launch the cars at a competitive price tag.
