Jeep Compass Diesel Launched With Automatic Gearbox At Rs 22 Lakh

FCA group has launched the Jeep Compass diesel-automatic in the Indian market. The SUV carries a price tag of Rs 21.96 lakh. All the 80 FCA dealerships in India have commenced the bookings and test drives of the car. The premium SUV now employs a diesel-automatic engine which is a BS-VI compliant, 2.0-litre, MultiJet II oil-burner, coupled to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The all-new engine churns out 173 Bhp of power and 350 Nm of twisting force. The 'Longitude' trim of the new diesel-automatic is priced at Rs 21.96 lakh, and 'Limited Plus' variant retails at Rs 24.99 lakh.

In Jeep Compass diesel-automatic, the 4x4 system comes as standard. Along with a BS-VI diesel-automatic powertrain, Jeep has also offered some added features. The SUV now gets a 7-inch UConnect infotainment system for the 'Longitude (O)' trim and a reverse camera from the 'Longitude' variant.

Moreover, the carmaker has also offered cruise control in the C-segment SUV. The Jeep Compass Longitude 4x4 employs 17-inch alloy wheels, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, all-season tyres, dual-zone automatic climate control and two-tone interior. On the other hand, the Jeep Compass Limited Plus variant features 8.4-inch UConnect touchscreen infotainment system, 18-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, auto-dimming IRVM, auto headlamps, panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, 8-way powered driver seat, and much more.

In other news, Jeep has introduced the plug-in hybrid trim of the Renegade. The booking of the plug-in Renegade will initiate by the end of January 2020 and the deliveries will start in June this year. The American car manufacturer has not unveiled any plan to introduce the car in the India market, but we can expect a new-gen variant in the next two years. In electric mode, the electric motor sends power to the rear wheels, while the front wheels are propelled by the engine.
