The dealership mentioned above is ‘PPS Kia’, a Kia dealership based in Bengaluru. The Carnival is available in three trims levels and three seating configurations, making for numerous variants. The base variant is called ‘Premium’, and is available in 7- and 8-seater configurations. The mid-level trim, ‘Prestige’, can be had in 8- and 9-seater versions. The top-spec trim is only available as a 7-seater vehicle.
The 7-seater version is the simplest configuration. It gets three rows of seats – two seats in the first row, two seats in the second row, and three seats in the third. The 8-seater is also a simple configuration. There are two seats in the first row, three in the second, and three in the third. As for the 9-seater variant, there are four rows of seats on offer. The last row gets three seats, while all other rows have two seats.
The Kia Carnival only has a single engine and transmission option. It is powered by a 2.2-litre inline-4 VGT-turbo-diesel motor that generates 200 PS and 440 Nm of maximum power and torque figures, respectively. It comes paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Although the Carnival is extremely heavy, nearly 2,200 kg, the engine-transmission combo never let the vehicle feel lethargic.

There is plenty of equipment on offer as well. The top-trim offers like Dual Electric Sunroof, dual 10.1-inch touchscreen entertainment and leg-rests for the second-row seats, multiple USB charging ports and a 2-point charging port. Other than that, you get power-operated sliding door for easy ingress and egress, and power-operated tailgate for the boot. The prices of the Kia Carnival begins at Rs. 24.95 lakh and goes up to Rs. 33.95 lakh (both prices ex-showroom, New Delhi). Currently, there is no direct competition for the Carnival MPV, although MG might be planning to bring one in the future.
