Kia Carnival Spied Testing Ahead Of Launch Next Month

Kia's second product for India, the Carnival MPV is aimed to become a decent competitor to the segment leader Toyota Innova Crysta in India.

Kia Motors is in the run-up to the launch of Kia Carnival MPV,which is scheduled to happen next month. Recently, the Kia Carnival has been spotted without any camouflage during its test one last time ahead of its market launch due to take place in January 2020, a month before the 2020 Auto Expo. Following the introduction of Kia Seltos, the Carnival premium MPV will be Kia’s next product for India. Some select Kia dealers have already started accepting bookings for the upcoming vehicle.

Internationally, Kia Carnival measures 5,115 mm long, 1,985 mm wide, 1,740 mm high along with the wheelbase of 3,060 mm.

Being a five-door MPV, the Kia Carnival will come off as a solid contender of the segment leader Toyota Innova Crysta. Internationally, the Kia Carnival is available with both 7-, 8- and 11-seater configurations. The Indian-spec Carnival. The Indian-spec Carnival might be offered with 6-, 7- and 8-seat versions. The company has already released the teaser video for the MPV, showing the premium side of the car in a 6-seater format along with individual captain seats.

Slated to come with an array of premium comfort features on tap, the Kia Carnival is expected to sit on the steeper side in terms of price as compared to the Innova Crysta. The estimated price range of the Kia Carnival is at around Rs 25 -30 Lakh (ex-showroom).

The global-spec car can be had with features like captain seats, power-operated rear-sliding doors, UVO connected features suite, two sunroofs, a large touchscreen infotainment system along with three-zone climate control and more. It remains to know if all these features could make it to the India-spec vehicle.

Kia Carnival is expected to sit in the range of around Rs 25 -30 Lakh (ex-showroom).

On the mechanical front, the forthcoming Kia Carnival will be powered by a BSVI-compliant 2.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel mill that is tuned to produce 202 PS of power and 441 Nm of torque. This engine could come linked to a 6-speed MT or automatic transmission with power transferred to the front wheels.
