Kia Sonet Tentative Prices Confirmed At Rs 8 Lakh to 13 Lakh

While the Kia Sonet is set to be launched in the coming weeks, almost everything has been known about the Sonet SUV, except for the prices. Though the variant-wise prices of the Sonet SUV have been suggested by the dealerships, people can’t wait to see the official prices of the upcoming sub-four-metre SUV which was promised to come as the brand’s most affordable product. Recently, the South Korean company has officially confirmed the tentative prices of the Sonet at around Rs 8 lakhs to Rs 13 lakh.

Replying to a prospective buyer who questioned about the Sonet pricing on social media, Kia has revealed that the Sonet will be tentatively priced from Rs 8 lakhs to Rs 13 lakh. From this, we are expecting that the Kia Sonet price (ex-showroom) will start at slightly above Rs 7 lakh or so and top off slightly above the Rs 12 lakh mark. With an ex-showroom price list this, an on-road price range of Rs 8-13 lakh looks very much possible.

As reported earlier, the all-new Kia Sonet will be sold in the same two trims as the Seltos, namely Tech Line and GT Line with the latter being offered with one variant only.  Kia’s little SUV will be available with a range of engine and transmission options. While the entry-level variant will feature a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the top-end trim can be had with either a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine or a 1.5-litre diesel unit. Multiple transmission choices will be available for these two mills, including a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT (for the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol) along with a 6-speed MT / 6-speed AT (for the 1.5-litre diesel unit).

The new Kia Sonet will be a feature-rich SUV which will be packed with a lot of prominent features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and UVO connect, cruise control, power sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, smart auto air purifier and many more. The suite of safety features for the Sonet will include 6 airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), rear parking camera, rear parking sensors, traction control and so forth.
